Harvest Moon series has been a close friend of the millennial generations, including me. Among numerous games in the series, the one that actually made my childhood was Harvest Moon Friends of Mineral Town. To me, this is the best farming game ever and also the best Harvest Moon game of all time. Yes, you heard me right! No other games could bring me the feeling I used to have when I first played this game even the remake version of it (Story of Season: Friends of Mineral Town).

What Is The Harvest Moon Friends Of Mineral Town?
Released in 2003 for the first time in Japan, Harvest Moon Friends of Mineral Town was the farming simulation game for Gameboy Advance. In November 2003 and March 2004, the game came to Northern America and Europe. It soon became a big hit in the game industry at that time and gained good reviews and praises from critics. They said the game is a masterpiece of the Harvest Moon series. And indeed, it was!
Harvest Moon Friends of Mineral Town actually was a remake of Harvest Moon Back to Nature. If you had played HM Back to Nature before, you would notice that Harvest Moon Friends Of Mineral Town inherited nearly everything from the previous version, including characters, storyline, farming activities, etc but in the new 2D graphics. In general, Harvest Moon Friends of Mineral Town concluded all the farming features you could find in any HM game as we mentioned previously in Harvest Moon: The Best Farming Game Series Ever.
A new change had been added. There was a version called Harvest Moon More Friends of Mineral Town in which you could play as a female character. This version really rocked the game once again, when players got the chance to experience dating bachelors in town and got married to one of them. In 2020, Harvest Moon Friends of Mineral Town was remade into a 3D version called Story of Season Friends of Mineral Town. The game was available on Nintendo Switch and PC with new features added. Even though the new version really got us excited at first, it still was not able to deliver the experience as Harvest Moon Friends of Mineral Town did.

What Do I like The Most About Harvest Moon Friends Of Mineral Town?
I first played in 2006 when I was in early high school. I and my sister were really crazy about the game, and we played it all day and all night. Despite the language barrier, we enjoyed the game with all our hearts. Even now, Harvest Moon Friends of Mineral Town brought back so many incredible memories whenever we talk about it. Everything about the game made our childhood complete, and I would like to share its most iconic things with you guys. Perhaps, you have the same feelings about Harvest Moon Friends of Mineral Town.
Visual
I’m so in love with how the developers create 2D graphics for the game. The visual part of the game actually pleased my eyes and my experience. Everything in the game from the characters to the landscapes, objects, etc is cute, appealing, and friendly at the same time. For children like us at that time, it’s like you are controlling a cartoon movie of your own, and I had to say it’s so amazing.
Music
This is one of the most iconic elements that made Harvest Moon Friends of Mineral Town successful. The game has a list of theme songs for various scenes and situations. In detail, there will be 4 different theme songs for each season in a year. Seasonal music will bring up the feelings and emotions related to the features of that season.
For example, the summer song is joyful while the winter theme song is cold and sad. Besides, you will encounter other theme songs for specific events happening in-game such as the town theme song, the love events, the rival event, festivals, etc. With the diversity and quality of music, Harvest Moon Friends of Mineral Town delivered the best gameplay experience for us. Dating & Marriage
The farming and breeding activities in the game are iconic and great for sure. Besides, dating and marriage are my favorite part of Harvest Moon Friends of Mineral Town. In both boy and girl versions, you will have a chance to date different bachelors and bachelorettes. During the get-to-know process, you have to find your partner’s favorite gift and give it to them every day. You’ll enjoy watching the love point rising by the color of the character’s heart. After winning your dream lover’s heart, you can propose to him or her with a blue feather. And then you guys will end up with a wedding.
It is so romantic and cute for me to enjoy all those dating and marriage stuff. It made me feel so real about such a video game as Harvest Moon. And I have to admit, once I got married in the game, I felt like I had nearly completed the storyline.
